Antique Victorian Style Articulated Silver and Marcasite Dangle Earrings

Were it not for the hallmark,
"925"
, I would have thought these beautiful earrings were original Victorian.  Of course there may be some jewelry identified as sterling silver with the numerical hallmark that are from the Victorian period, however I would prefer to err on the side of caution.  The construction too is very much more like the delicate craftsmanship of the Victorian era rather than the thick, shiny reproductions we see today.  The
marcasites
are tiny and abundant, also more reminiscent of times gone by.   But again, I'd rather not make claims I can't verify and ebay offers tips on identifying authentic antiques and mentions the 925 stamp as likely being NOT antique so...  There is also a
maker's mark
, the letter
"M"
in an oval.
The tops of the
posts (for pierced ears)
are a bow shape, studded with marcasites from which drop the body of the earrings, a flower shape atop an oval from which dangle three oblong drops.  There's lots of motion which allows the tiny marcasites to capture the light.
All the bits are present
and they are light weight making them comfortable to wear  They measure
1 5/8" long x 1/2"
at the widest point.
