    Description

    ES Prussia Neoclassical Scene Greek Women Classical Scene Tankard Pitcher C 1902
    Beautiful porcelain pitcher. Nicely decorated in the Royal Vienna style with a classical / allegorical scene of three Greek or Roman woman and a cherub on the front. The scene is framed by gold gilt beading, and gold gilt scrollwork and acanthus leaves over ivory. With green and crimson red arrow shaped bands above and below the scene and across the back. In between each band on the back are gold gilt scrollwork designs and gold gilt and beaded diamonds over ivory. In the center of each diamond is either green or crimson. Marked on the reverse Prov Saxe ES Germany in green. This mark was used by Erdmann Schlegelmilch (ES Prussia / ES Germany) around circa 1902.
    Has wear to the gilding, but no chips or cracks.
    Measures approximately 7 5/8 inches wide x 12 1/4 inches tall.
    This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
