Cordless Ice Auger Drill Adapter Only
Ice Auger Cordless Drill Adapter
/
will fit
3/8 in. & 1/2 in. drill chucks
Designed for Eskimo Hand Ice Augers with wing bolt handle attachment
This is a compact, light weight adapter that incorporates two ¼ in. hex bolts to act as a safety device to eliminate the chance of losing your auger through the ice if the drill chuck should loosen. The hex bolts supplied will stop a 6 in. auger from going thru the ice. If you are going to be using a bigger auger please note on order so I can send you longer bolts to suit.
NO bulky plates or straps to attach. Assembles and disassembles easily for storage.
Adapter has a 5/16 in. hexagon shaft that is hardened and tempered which gives it strength and durability for fastening to your drill, no chance of the shaft becoming distorted which causes drill chucks to loosen. The safety device designed into this adapter is only there for added protection. The part that attaches to your auger is made of aluminum which makes it easy to remove since the auger is made of steel.
If the length of the adapter is not long enough for you just notify me and I can make one to suit your needs.
18 volt cordless drills or higher are recommended even though lower voltage drills will work, just limited to the amount of holes you can drill. Make sure your drill has a low and high speed or a single speed drill that has a maximum speed of 500 rpm’s or less. On the two speed drills you will be using the low speed which will deliver the needed power to turn the auger.
Make sure your blades are sharp, even blades that feel sharp can be dull. If you are having troubles auguring holes buy hand, the battery in your cordless will not drill many holes and you will be disappointed. Many people have come to me and said I just put brand new blades on and it still doesn’t auger like it once did. This happens because the mounting angle of the blades have changed over time. This happens when people yank their auger out of the ice after drilling a hole or the auger is dropped on its blades. You should continue to turn the auger when bringing it out of the ice instead of a yank. This happens more on the older Lazer augers than the new ones. You’ll notice on the newer models they have added reinforcement near the blades. Long story short, if the mounting angle of the blades are not correct, no matter how sharp the blades, it will not auger easily and installing a cordless drill won’t make it any better. I have reworked many augers with this problem.
I would very much like to sell you an ice auger drill adapter, but I do not like to have disappointed customers either.
