    Description

VERY EARLY CANVASBACK HEN by John McLoughlin, Bordentown, NJ, (1911-1985), circa 1930's. Appears to be very old original paint with in-use wear. Very good structural condition
    for this early balsa bodie
    d
    decoy.
Head turned slightly right and retains glass
    eyes.
Detailed bill, nostril and mandible carving. Retains weighted keel. One of his earliest carving styles. For examples and information, see "Floating Sculpture", pages 90-91. A true Delaware River classic. In great shape for an early balsa body decoy.
    16.5 inches long.
See pics for condition and details.
